Surgeon performs surgery to prevent and correct injuries, deformities, diseases or improve patient function, appearance or quality of life. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Being a Surgeon determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. Additionally, Surgeon may provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. Surgeon's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.      We have an opportunity available in our dynamic and growing partnership: 

    • Board certified/eligible; Fellowship training not required. Required residency training in orthopedics. No experience is required beyond residency training.
    • 1-10 years of experience beyond fellowship and residency training acceptable.
    • 1:8 call at a level 3 trauma center with average 1-3 cases and 1-2 consults per call day
    • Join seven Board Certified orthopedic surgeons with 3-34 years of experience
    • Four of seven surgeons with Fellowship training (sports, joints and hand)
    • Able to focus practice to specific interest with the general orthopedic call responsibilities

    Requirements:
    Doctoral degree (M.D. or D.O.)
    Indiana State Licensure required
    Board certified or eligible required
    BLS certification required

    In 2023, the well-established practice of Lafayette Orthopedic Clinic joined our OrthoIndy practice. We plan continued growth in the Lafayette community. Our current surgical partners are all Board Certified or Board Eligible and a majority are fellowship trained. They range in age and scope of practice. Call responsibilities are approximately 1:8.   We are a unique, independent practice because of our strong philosophy of being patient-focused, outcomes oriented, and cost effective for the patient, third party payors, employers as well as the hospital.

    Currently, we offer expertise in orthopedic subspecialties including knee and cartilage restoration, total joint replacement/reconstruction, hand and upper extremity, interventional pain management, shoulder and shoulder replacement, and sports medicine.  Lafayette Orthopedic Clinic (LOC) has been providing orthopedic care in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties for more than 60 years.   LOC provides orthopedic care at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital, a level 3 trauma center.  In April of 2023, LOC became a practice of OrthoIndy.

    OrthoIndy consists of over 100 physicians, 75 Advanced Practice Providers, 55 Physical & Occupational Therapists, and many other medical professionals committed to providing excellent outcomes to our patients.  Our sports medicine specialists serve numerous local athletic programs in high schools, universities, amateur and professional sports teams, including the Indiana Pacers & Indiana Fever basketball teams.  We currently have 11 outpatient practice locations throughout Central Indiana, and 3 physician-owned hospital locations.  We are equipped with the following ancillaries:  MRI, CT, ultrasound, physical and occupational therapy, DME & orthotics, and digital X-Ray. OrthoIndy has a robust orthopedic Urgent Care program, staffed by advanced practice providers and surgeons. 

    We have many surgeons on staff at an Indianapolis l, level 1 trauma hospital, as well as other community hospital systems.    Our Trauma team provides ED ortho coverage for the level 1 trauma center.
