Surgeon - Heart Transplant examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients with end-stage cardiac disease. Surgically replaces a diseased or damaged heart with a healthy heart. Being a Surgeon - Heart Transplant reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving the desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Heart Transplant may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. Advanced Practice Provider, NP or PA - PALS Required, Heart Transplant

  • Responsibilities

    The Heart Center is seeking a motivated, detail oriented Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Heart Transplant team. The position is focused on providing medical management and continuity for the complex needs of our transplanted population. The role is primarily ambulatory focused. This is a great opportunity to join our team that is a Center of Excellence in pediatric heart transplant, with some of the best post-transplant 1-year and 3-year survival rates in the nation.

    Requirements

    Nurse Practitioner:

    Required Education/Experience:- Master’s degree in nursing or higher, with a pediatric nurse practitioner concentration.- Completion of a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner (PNP-AC) program or at least one year of current work experience pediatric ICU setting as a PNP.- One year work experience in pediatric critical care.

    Required Credentials:- Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).- Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner.- Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration.

     

    Physician Assistant:

    Required Education/Experience:

    -Graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program. 

    -Completion of a formal post graduate critical care training program, including precepted clinical experience

    -One year work experience in pediatric critical care.

     

    Required Credentials:

    -Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

    -Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). 

    -Active, unencumbered physician assistant, certified, licensure in the State of Washington. 

    -Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration.

     

     

    Preferred: - Two years experience in a nurse practitioner role. - Two years experience in pediatric health care.

    - Prior pediatric cardiac or solid organ transplant experience preferred

    Min to Max Hourly Salary

    $59.94 - $81.10 /hr

    Min to Max Annual Salary

    $124,673.00 - $168,680.00 /yr

    Salary Information

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

    Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
