May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. JOB DESCRIPTION
A transplant nurse is a crucial member of the transplant team that works closest to the recipient of organ donations. Also recognized as a transplant nurse coordinator, this specialized position is accountable for coordinating a patient’s care through each step of the transplantation process. In addition to regular nursing duties, such as taking vitals, administering medication, and prepping a patient for surgery, a transplant nurse is to give knowledge, educate, and support to transplant recipients and their families throughout the transplant journey, managing everything from identifying potential transplant recipients to ensuring the donated organs are not detested and or rejected by the recipient’s body.
This position is open to any level of RN, including Residents. New hires may be eligible for a hiring bonus of up to $12,000 .
