About this opportunity:
With over three years as an established Ericsson Production Site, the Production team at the US 5G Smart Factory is looking to continue to expand our SMA (Surface Mount Assembly) operator workforce. SMA operators play a crucial role in operating SMA equipment and producing boards for innovative 5G radios and basebands.
We are seeking hard-working individuals who are passionate about technology and innovation. The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment contributing to both volume production and new product introduction. What you will do:
Build with Quality
- Achieve certifications on SMA machines and processes via in-house on-the-job training.
- Operate SMA equipment: Solder Paste Printer (DEK, Europlacer), Automated Paste and Glue Dispenser (Camalot), Pick and Place Machines (ASM), and Automated Optical Inspection Machines (Koh Young).
- Operate board test equipment to ensure product reliability.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and control in SMA Kanban.
- Check machine readiness and conduct continuous monitoring of machine operations.
- Ensure the right components are used in production.
- Perform basic quality auditing, testing, and troubleshooting functions to ensure product quality.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement:
- Speak up and contribute your ideas for improvements to your work areas.
- Help to implement new improvements.
- Participate in regular knowledge sharing and learning sessions.
Apply 5S and Promote Safety:
- Clean the SMA machines, tools, and equipment.
- Organize your work area according to 5S principles.
- Promote, understand, and strictly adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines without deviation.

Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest and experience in technology and manufacturing.
- High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management and colleagues.
- Team-player, proactive, committed to providing high-quality work.
- Experience with being a part of complex processes.
Ideal Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Experience in an SMT/SMA production environment.
- Relevant technical education and computer literacy.
- Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge precautions.
- Ability to work overtime and/or flexible shift hours when required.
This role reports to the SMA Manager.
