Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator is responsible for both automated and manual surface mount manufacturing. Responsible for set-up, operation, and adjustment of SMT equipment. Being a Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator monitors and maintains equipment to meet company standards. May be responsible for quality assurance and documentation. Additionally, Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Surface Mount Tech Machine Operator may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. A Surface Mount Operator uses specialized equipment, and operates a PCB printed circuit board surface mount line. You will have a good knowledge of electronic manufacturing systems and production processes, and be able to operate and maintain the surface mount line and improve processes and procedures. Best candidates should be able to set up, change over, and program the machine, and ensure high quality assemblies in line with electronic drawings. Be able with light training to do feeder set-up, load and unload, component Identification, run the Surface Mount Line Conveyor System, Screen Printer Set-up, Solder Paste handling, inspection and evaluation, reflow inspection, hand placement and other common SMT responsibilities.

· Postsecondary training, such as a certificate program from a vocational school or community college, can improve your job prospects.
· Being able to assemble electronic equipment from blueprints or other technical schematics
· Must be patient and detail oriented.
· Willing to work in a team environment but most work done alone or in small groups.
· Ability to follow all workplace safety guidelines.
· Solder (IPC Certification Preferred) Willing to train and certify
· Mechanical Assembly with the ability to think outside of the box, and go the extra mile
· Problem solving daily issues with little oversight
· Must be willing to work with small parts, good eyesight and manual dexterity is required
