    We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Director of Clinical Services to join our Special Services team in RI.

     

    Your Impact

    The person in this role will lead and coordinate AF Rhode Island’s related services program and compliance support, ensuring strong identification, evaluation, and programming for students and schools. Additionally, executing the reporting necessary for Rhode Island-specific systems, such as, ClaimsPro, TimeStudy, Medicaid, eRide.

    Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Special Services, RI you will be responsible for:

    Managing Related Service Providers and School Psychologist Team for Rhode Island

    • Observe related service providers (SLPs, OTs, school psychologists) performing tasks related to their priorities
    • Support them through modeling and feedback. 

    School-based Compliance Support

    • Support schools and school leaders through tactical compliance support
    • Ensure IEP program alignment and suitability, rooted in proper identification and classification
    • Improve and systematize a strong Child Find Program within our Rhode Island LEA

    Rhode Island Compliance and Reporting Management 

    • Coordinate compliance work across all 7 RI schools (annuals, triennials, evaluations)
    • Create strong systems and reporting structures for eRide, TEINET, TimeStudy/Medicaid, ClaimsPro. 
    • Ensure reporting accuracy in the both systems

    Ensuring collaboration and alignment across teams and models

    • Create and present materials and supports that further both the schools and the network's goals around special education compliance through monthly professional development, individualized school supports, and longer-term special services planning
    • Problem-solve any legal issues that arise for each school by partnering with Team Legal, families, and school staff.

    Organization and Communication

    • Problem solve communications and scheduling issues; this support includes ensuring school accountability to both the legal requirements of compliance and provision of actual adequate supports for students and schools
    • Family and school alignment/communication on supports delivered and IEP Meetings that occur.

    Candidate Profile

    All successful candidates for this position will have: 

    • A Master's degree in Education with an emphasis on special education.
    • A proven, multi-year track record of exemplary teaching experience, preferably ensuring the achievement of low-income, minority students.  This includes at least three years of highly successful teaching experience with highly effective supports of students with disabilities/IEPs
    • At least two years of school leadership experience
    • RI Special Education Certification

    In addition, the following characteristics are required to be successful on this team:

    • Deep knowledge of special education regulations
    • Knowledge of effective practice, coaching experience. 
    • Must be able to work across lines of difference
    • Understand deeply how our work is equity work and be able to lead for racial equity 
    • Know how to motivate and influence across teams
    • Personal organization when working across multiple schools, regions, and teams is also critical.
    • Strong ethics and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality 
    • Confident in interacting with and influencing individuals at all levels within the organization 
    • Ability to thrive in a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed 
    • Ability to multitask, exceptional detail and follow up skills, and is organized 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive communication style
    • Belief in the Achievement First mission and educational model

     

    Compensation

    Achievement First sets salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on the requisite skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.  The salary for this position is $117,753, with no flexibility.  Additionally, Achievement First offers to all regular, full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 403(b) retirement benefit package with match, and paid Family Leave
