Amazon’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) team is looking for a a Principal Supply Chain Manager to help us shape the future of Amazon's inbound network, enabling a synchronized inventory flow, transportation, storage and fulfillment network, and the capacity and capabilities designed to facilitate them all.
This Principal Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for creating a Center of Excellence within the Supply Chain Innovation org to answer complex supply chain design related questions. He/she will develop a deep understanding of Amazon's inbound space, partner with business owners to translate their unique set of objectives into use cases, establish techniques and principles, and leverage optimization capabilities to create effective recommendations for a wide-range of topics (topology, connectivity, inventory level) in a repeatable manner. This person will be expected to present in front of leadership and therefore clear communication (verbal and written) skill is vital.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop the vision for the Center of Excellence in Network Design and create mechanisms to deliver high-quality output to earn trust
- Partner cross-functionally to build a holistic understanding of the inbound businesses; understand the nuance between business asks and correctly distill them into potential analyses
- Develop multiple hypotheses and scenarios and leverage inbound optimization platform to generate outputs in a timely and consistent manner
- Own or contribute to strategy docs with a focus on supply chain strategy
- Exercise high judgment in delivering recommendations and drive holistic discussions on trade-offs, assumptions, and downstream impacts
- Conduct competitor studies and identify new opportunities
- Over time, recruit and build up a team to consistently deliver recommendations within SLA

For initiatives with high impact and broad scope with no clear line of ownership, we provide leadership to develop, trial, and scale solutions to full network implementation

- 7 years of program or project management experience
- 7 years of working cross functionally across several teams experience
- 7 years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

- Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level
- Extensive experience in using Llamasoft to solve supply chain problems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market.
