    Job Summary
    Lead and manage a team of Supply Chain professionals to ensure the supply of generic and branded Pharmaceuticals primarily manufactured at the Wilson, North Carolina site for domestic and international customers. The role oversees the supply chain for manufacturing and packaging, including procurement of direct materials, quota allocation, planning processes for the Wilson site, and several interconnected Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). Align Demand and Supply requirements and convert them to an optimized production plan through the development of Master Production Schedules (MPS) down to detailed scheduling by work center and up to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). Detailed schedules will include coordination of pharm tech and engineering activities. Coordinate all day-to-day production activities with the Operations group and ensure that adequate resources are available to manage the production plan. This position will manage raw material, manufacturing, and packaging Supply Chain professionals to optimize inventory levels for all direct material, manufacturing, and packaging requirements and is responsible for prioritizing review activities for the Quality Control and Quality Assurance units to ensure the release of product on time. Additionally, this position is responsible for updates and changes to master data for multiple manufacturing sites and associated companies as well as the oversight of serialization requirements for both internally and externally manufactured products. This position will also serve as the primary leadership representative for Supply Chain on business-critical technical transfer, new product introduction, and cross-company initiatives to support the transition to the Public Health Trust structure.
    Primary Responsibilities
    • Manage supply to support domestic and international markets.
    • Manage key third-party contract suppliers.
    • Provide leadership in key master supply agreement negotiations and executions.
    • Responsible for oversight and analysis in support of internal manufacturing and packaging utilization.
    • Provide annual input for the formation of operational financial budgets and targets.
    • Responsible/accountable for collaborative development of Pre-S&OP/S&OP analytical reference materials for assigned sites/regions/products.
    • Responsible/accountable for establishing and maintaining a target inventory of finished goods to support company goals and meet customer requirements. In addition, coordinate/prioritize the work in process inventory with the operations and quality groups to ensure product is produced and released to support those targets.
    • Responsible/accountable for creating supply plans in alignment with associated demand forecasts through collaboration with commercial analytics.
    • Manage quota allocation across the Wilson site and interconnected CMOs.
    • Responsible/accountable for creating detailed Manufacturing and Packaging schedules for the Wilson site and interconnected CMOs to meet the MPS for the various product families. Detailed schedules will be developed in collaboration with the operations team to ensure they are the most efficient for manufacturing.
    • Responsible/accountable for incorporating all Pharm Tech/R&D projects into the detailed schedule without disruption of the commercial business.
    • Responsible/accountable for incorporating Engineering Projects that would render equipment resources unavailable into the detailed schedules.
    • Oversee management of inventory levels of all raw materials and packaging components to support the production schedules.
    • Responsible for generating the SAP MRP reports and for trouble shooting problems in the total MRP system. This includes gaining a knowledge base of information about each of the operational areas that impact on the system and can offer systems guidance to these other departments.
    • Lead planning activities to manage the introduction of new products through liaison with Pharm Tech and production operations.
    • Lead change control implementation for artwork changes involving packaging components and scheduling effective implementation dates to minimize inventory waste.
    • Manage purchasing to provide priorities when necessary to expedite raw materials and packaging components from suppliers as required, as well as through the Receiving department, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance departments to support manufacturing and packaging schedules.
    • Oversee the SAP system master data updates and integrity (Item Master, Planning Records, Bill of Materials, MRP/DRP, PI sheets, Serialization, etc.). Coordinate with the responsible groups to make/approve changes to data, as necessary.
    • Responsible for maintaining and analyzing Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) system for manufacturing and packaging specific to the labor and equipment needed to cover the detailed schedules. This includes running production simulations to evaluate the impact of various demand plans on the labor and equipment resources.
    • Develop detailed and summary capacity reports to be used by the department and management to make recommendation for additional shifts in work centers where we have exceeded capacity, increased/decreased head count, and recommendations for workload to be performed in a secondary location.
    • Responsible for ad hoc reporting; design, potentially write, or work with IT to develop and implement reporting to improve the information and provide the most accurate data to the department and company to make the most informed and timely decisions.
    • Provide information to management concerning actual performance versus planned and the status of various projects through collection of data.
    • Manage/lead a weekly meeting to involve and update all departments on the weekly production requirements.
    • Manage/lead a cross-functional monthly meeting to review the long-range (3mos plus) multi-site activities (engineering/PT/Maintenance) and production requirements.
    • Improve Procurement and Planning department policies and procedures in an ongoing effort to increase inventory turns, achieve schedule adherence, and minimize total material cycle times in support of the efficient operation of the Wilson site and to maintain the highest levels of customer service.
    • Ensure the development of direct reports in alignment with Purdue’s commitment to talent-building and succession planning modules.
    Education and Experience Requirements
    The incumbent must have a Bachelor's degree in Business or Science (preferably in Supply Chain Management) along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Scheduling and Planning in a pharmaceutical environment (preferably generics solid oral dosage manufacturing).
    Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Must be able to work in a cross-functional, multi-cultural team setting.
    • Demonstrable knowledge and applied skills in MRP, Import/Export, S&OP processes, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
    • Demonstrates extensive working knowledge of the supply chain discipline and advancing knowledge of related disciplines.
    • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to mentor and coach 4-5 direct reports.
    A strong background in SAP planning systems including MRP II is necessary to plan and manage inventory levels (APO module is a plus). A strong knowledge of all the aspects of production and operations is required to interpret reports and make operational decisions (APICS certification a plus). Proficient computer skills with software packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc. is necessary to control, analyze and present data.

    • Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the operating unit in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
