PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The Supply Chain/Operations Analyst-Buyer will conduct data analysis to improve our supply chain, inventory, and operations, intended for the optimization of our facilities and capabilities, including sources of raw materials, manufacturing plants, distribution center, and customer service, as well as the transportation and communications links between them. The main goal of the position is to help our company to increase efficiency and reduce costs, while exceeding customer expectations. The Supply Chain/Operations Analyst-Buyer will be assigned several business-critical commodities to fully procure and manage. In this role, the analyst/buyer should have an analytical mind and a strong business acumen. Sense of urgency, problem-solving, communication and attention to details are essential. Supports all areas of supply chain organization and operation of the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collect data on supply chain / operations. Analyze data to identify areas of supply chain / operations to improve efficiency. Recommends actions to be taken based on “actionable” data.
- Develop and execute projects to enhance supply chain and overall operations .
- Assess vendor operations and enforce compliance with quality standards. Establish and maintain relationships with shippers and vendors.
- Establish/Track KPIs and report on supply chain’s performance. Measure supply chain / operations performance and report to management.
- Work with the procurement, logistics, materials, quality, manufacturing, IT departments, all other departments to improve service & delivery.
- Place Purchase Orders, manage assigned suppliers(commodities) and tracking shipments. Support and or cover other roles within the department as required. Ensures invoice discrepancies regarding price, terms, and quantity.
- Assesses lead times and safety stock levels and other system attributes, makes updates to these as necessary to support of improving process and eliminating waste.
- Keen focus on continuous improvement; gather, analyze, communicate information with recommended actions based on data.
- Create and assist in the development of process documentation and standard work for all Supply Chain areas.
- Obtains approval for material disposition and ensures these materials are dispositioned and transacted timely and properly.
- Actively involved in all new product introduction and product changes to provide for a smooth transition from development to manufacturing. Manage or participation role for current or new products or projects.
- Takes an active role in supporting safety, quality improvement, work life, and business processes programs.
- Assists in the training and development of the supply chain staff and the development and implementation / documentation of policies and procedures that best meet department and company objectives.
- Take on ad hoc task, assignment, projects in a lead or support capacity. Perform other similar duties as required by responsibility or necessity or as requested by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree in Logistics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field with a strong work performance history
- Solid knowledge and understanding of manufacturing systems, e.g., MRP, ERP, Inventory Management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Has the ability to adequately act as a liaison between vendors, customers, and laborers as well as other departments within the company.
- Skilled in database program, in special Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced MS Excel skills are a must. Experience with advanced business systems.
- Purchasing responsibility of assigned commodity, product(s) or product line(Production parts, MRO, other). Monitors PPV, organizes and analyzes cost reduction events.
- Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills. Works well independently as well as part of a team(s). Acute attention to detail, math, and multi-tasking skills. Ability to prioritize and act with urgency.
