Supply Chain Analyst monitors and expedites the flow of goods, resources, and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs. Coordinates with procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and other functions to optimize the supply chain. Being a Supply Chain Analyst identifies bottlenecks or problem areas and escalates or proposes solutions. Works with suppliers to resolve issues. Additionally, Supply Chain Analyst may assist in the negotiation of contracts or service arrangements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Supply Chain Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Supply Chain Management is responsible for delivering value to the university through internal services and external supplier partnerships. Services lines include Strategic Sourcing, Procurement and Contracting Services, Distribution Services, Accounts Payable and Travel Accounting, Banking Card Services, Storehouse Operations, and Repro Graphics Services. The department encompasses approximately 150 career staff with an annual operating budget of $22M.
JOB SUMMARY
Under leadership of the Financial and Business Analyst, will be responsible for the gathering of data and information for reporting needs. Will work heavily with the campus and systemwide financial and procurement systems in ensuring accuracy of data. Responsible for the review and analysis of data to identify trends, and potential problems. Works with raw data to get to the level of detail needed for the report, analysis, or metric requested. Creates graphs, charts, and other ways of presenting the data in an informative and clear fashion. Works with end users on gathering data for a wide range of Supply Chain Management activities on the campus and systemwide level.
