Subrogation Specialist, Sr. is responsible for subrogation activities including the identification and research of subrogation claims. Assists in the recovery of overpayments. Being a Subrogation Specialist, Sr. coordinates with other departments, insurance representatives and members. Processes subrogation, workers' compensation, and other claims where third-party liability exists. Additionally, Subrogation Specialist, Sr. develops cases resulting from beneficiary or provider-initiated inquiries, internal referrals, personal research, or computer-generated reports. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Subrogation Specialist, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.     Position Summary: Responsible for the complete subrogation process of investigation, negotiation, and settlement of property claims that have been identified to have subrogation potential as assigned.


    Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

    • Subrogation Process - Navigates through our proprietary database and electronic documents to process and resolve claims with subrogation potential.
    • Subrogation Knowledge - Ability through experience and education to appropriately handle property subrogation files of moderate to high complexity.
    • Documentation - Prioritize and appropriately document all activities for recovery. Document files including all conversations with all parties related to the claim, in-coming and out-going correspondence, current file, updates, subrogation analysis, file resolution recommendations, applicable state negligence laws and statutes.
    • Technical Proficiency - Ability to work in multiple computer systems efficiently and understand basic computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 5 plus years of property insurance claims, property subrogation with inter-company arbitration filings experience.
    • High School Diploma.
    • Typing 45 wpm accurately.
    • Computer application knowledge.
    • Thorough knowledge of subrogation principles and property claims.
    • Employment is contingent upon the employee maintaining adequate bandwidth for their home internet as determined by Latitude's IT department.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • College education or the completion of some college coursework.
    • CSRP - Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional designation.
    • Claims system knowledge.
    • Ability to speak Spanish.
