Subrogation Specialist, Sr. is responsible for subrogation activities including the identification and research of subrogation claims. Assists in the recovery of overpayments. Being a Subrogation Specialist, Sr. coordinates with other departments, insurance representatives and members. Processes subrogation, workers' compensation, and other claims where third-party liability exists. Additionally, Subrogation Specialist, Sr. develops cases resulting from beneficiary or provider-initiated inquiries, internal referrals, personal research, or computer-generated reports. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Subrogation Specialist, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. CorVel is seeking a full time Claims Specialist to work with our subrogation team. The Claims Specialist manage within company standards and best practices Workers Compensation claims with subrogation potential.
Identify subrogation potential, send lien letters, address request for consent to settle, calculate lien reimbursements, work closely with claims specialist, supervisors, and attorneys;
manage subrogation and negotiate settlements to ensure specific customer requirements to achieve the best possible outcome in the claim.
Experience in workers comp subrogation or auto damage subrogation preferred.
This role will be reporting to our Syracuse, NY office and will have the option to work from home or in the office. Work arrangement will be determined upon hire.

Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors : federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
