Subrogation Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the department which processes subrogation claims according to established standards and schedules. Oversees the evaluation of subrogation claims and recovery of overpayments for duplicate coverage, workers' compensation, and no-fault claims. Being a Subrogation Manager develops and maintains efficient other party liability and coordination of benefits systems. May be responsible for hiring, training, and firing staff. Additionally, Subrogation Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Subrogation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. CorVel is seeking a full time Claims Specialist to work with our subrogation team. The Claims Specialist manage within company standards and best practices Workers Compensation claims with subrogation potential.
Identify subrogation potential, send lien letters, address request for consent to settle, calculate lien reimbursements, work closely with claims specialist, supervisors, and attorneys;
manage subrogation and negotiate settlements to ensure specific customer requirements to achieve the best possible outcome in the claim.
Experience in workers comp subrogation or auto damage subrogation preferred.
This role will be reporting to our Syracuse, NY office and will have the option to work from home or in the office. Work arrangement will be determined upon hire.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
