Primary Responsibilities
1. Lead youth (ages; Jr. High, High School, & College) and their families to follow Jesus.
2. Identify, invite, train, and empower leaders/team-players(volunteer’s) to be a part of the Student Ministry.
3. Maintain a monthly leaders/team-players(volunteer’s) schedule that is sent to volunteers at least three weeks in advance
4. Communicate weekly and meet weekly/monthly with Student Ministry leaders/team-players(volunteer’s) in order to build ownership, obtain feedback, and equip them to lead other volunteers.
5. Follow up with people that are interested in leading/volunteering with student ministries.
6. Create systems and events to thank and appreciate student ministry leaders/team-players(volunteer’s).
7. Recognize first-time guests by sending a gift to the home of each family.
8. Serve as a primary student leader and communicator for The Awakening Church’s youth ministry.
9. During the week invest in the lives of students building relationships with them in the most effective way possible.
10. Adapt and prepare curriculum for youth grades 6th through 12th grades, including college age ministry for Sunday’s and Thursday Evenings.
11. Schedule, plan, and fundraise, for student retreats and intern hires.
12. Schedule, book and follow up with supplemental student communicators in your absence.
13. Oversee The Awakening youth ministry, including sound, lights and video through leaders/volunteers setup and operate of all related student ministry environments on Sunday morning/Thursday Evening, including check-in, individual youth environments, security, check out, setup and tear down.
14. Act as the primary organizer of student Small Groups for Middle/High School & college students.
15. Oversee the Student Ministry budget, and plan select special events as needed.
16. Create a student Ministry “brand” within The Awakening Church, including a name, theme, décor, graphics, website, etc.
17. Participate in staff meetings, creative meetings, and leadership retreats to provide evaluation and feedback to the Lead Team.
18. Communicate with student pastors and watch other vibrant student ministries across the country to gain insight and develop ways to improve the effectiveness of the worship experience.
