Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Student Activities Coordinator manages and plans events and activities students in an educational environment. The coordinator is responsible for organizing and promoting programs such as student organizations and social activities. This position will work with students, staff, and community members to create a fun and engaging experience for current and future students. Additionally, this position will oversee the selection and supervision of student leaders to maintain a positive experience for all participants.
- Advise Student Government Association including Student Senate, Campus Activities Board and Student Judicial Board.
- Supervise and evaluate all student activity events and confer frequently with the Director of Student Life and the Curris Center on student activity matters.
- Hire and train student workers.
- Offer support and guidance to student leaders in organizing and running events.
- Evaluates the success of student activities and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Uphold university policies and regulations throughout all student activities.
- Collaborates with community organizations to provide opportunities for students.
- Coordinate and oversee student activities for special events, such as Homecoming and Miss Murray State.
- Responsible for managing the budget and requisitioning of all payments related to activities.
- Manage the daily functions of the Center of Student Involvement office and student life programs through the use of student organizations, faculty advisors, outside presenters and programs.
- Coordinate activities and schedule events after appropriate planning and development.
- Offer support with Student Leadership Programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
- One year of professional experience in student organizational, advising, or program event planning.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Willingness to work in a team and collaborative environment.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel or related field.
Physical Demands Work Hours
- Evenings/weekends may be required.
Minimum Salary $42,000 Maximum Salary $45,000
