Student Activities Director directs and oversees the development and organization of the university/college's extra-curricular programs including special events. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Director approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Under the direction of the Administrator, to provide group and individual activities for our residents. The number one goal is to bring fulfillment and happiness. By smiling and bringing a positive attitude to work every day, it will promote a joyous atmosphere for the residents.
The Activities Director plays a vital role in the resident's experience and the tone of the facility environment overall. Use your knowledge, skills and talents to develop programs to meet the individual psychosocial needs of the residents and to develop and guide your team members. In the role you will develop, coordinate, implement, oversee, and continuously improve resident activity, social programming, and social functions for the staff.
Duties Include (but not limited to):
• Participates in daily morning meeting.
• Active member of the QAPI team, prepares reports accordingly
• Creates monthly activity calendars to be hung for resident reference
• Initiates and promotes activities both within and outside the facility to stimulate and promote resident interest, communication and general well being.
• Encourages hobbies and provide materials and supplies in keeping with each resident’s financial status and department budget. Encourages, Instructs and supervises craft activities among residents, in groups or individually, in recreational areas or in residents’ rooms.
• Coordinates salon/beauty services
• Plans parties, provides games, and encourages residents to assist in the planning, such as making table decorations, wrapping gifts, trimming room or area, and other similar activities.
• Encourages residents to participate in religious activities to fulfill their basic spiritual needs, through visits with local ministers, attendance at religious services whenever possible, spiritual reading material, and others.
• Encourages intellectual / educational development through literature, lectures, movies, cultural events, and other activities available in the community.
• Organizes specialty and holiday events, luncheons, and dinners
• Visits bed-bound residents, writes letters for them, runs errands. This may include assisting residents to church services, appointments, etc.
• Is responsible for the smooth operation of the resident council and its documentation. Provides resident council outcomes and updates to Administrator.
• Will contact relatives at residents’ request and may act as liaison with relatives.
• Assures resident safety.
• Requisitions, and upon approval of Administrator, purchases supplies, equipment, and materials to carry out programs.
• Is responsible for appearance of work area.
• Must maintain documentation of activities to meet all state and federal requirements.
• Responsible for activity department staff scheduling.
• Responsible for budgetary compliance with staffing and overtime
• Create, maintain and manage volunteer groups.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Administrator

Extensive experience in a creative event management or activity planning role.

Base work hours: Mon-Fri 8a to 5pm. Flexibility in schedule for programming needs (ex. working 2nd shift instead of 1st shift). Schedule that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays
