DISTRICT ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR - WEST FARGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS
POSITION: District Activities Director - West Fargo Public Schools
TERM: 240-day contract beginning with the 2022-2023 School Year
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Secondary Assistant Superintendent, the District Activities Director is responsible for leading and supervising the learner co-curricular and extra-curricular (inclusive of both fine arts and athletics) experience within the middle and high schools of West Fargo Public Schools, within the policies of the District, rules and guidelines of Title IX, and the ND High School Activities Association. The District Activities Director is responsible for assuring a proper balance and perspective with respect to individual school programs to best meet the needs of all learners and the community by performing such responsibilities as: supervising building activities coordinators, promoting learning and success as key outcomes of extra and co-curricular activities, ensuring equitable budgets for all district programs, communicating with the public and district stakeholders, and ensuring safety and compliance with required state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Leads team of middle and high school building level activities coordinators to ensure excellence and equity for West Fargo Public schools learners
- Serves as the primarily liaison and representative of the District concerning the co-curricular and extra-curricular programs, activities and events within West Fargo Public Schools
- Ensures equitable supervision, evaluation, and coordination of activities for co-curricular and extra-curricular programs
- Develops and administers the budget for grades 7-12 co-curricular and extra-curricular programs
- Provides scheduling support to ensure quality experiences for all district stakeholders
- Secures facilities for co-curricular and extra-curricular events/activities
- Attends, works with, and represents the district before various local, league, state, and federal agencies to develop, update and provide information related to regulations and rules of the co-curricular and extra-curricular program
- Assists building activities coordinators, building and district staff in providing a safe environment for learners participating in events
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with educational leadership/administration preparation, sports management/leadership, or closely related field
- ND Teaching License
- Minimum of 3 years directly related experience leading or supervising coaches and advisors of activities
- Strong knowledge of ND High School Activities Association participation and eligibility rules and regulations
- Prior experience with procurement, learner discipline, risk management, and outside contracting with personnel for activities
- Excellent understanding of athletic administration principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to foster a collaborative and positive working relationship with learners, educators, parents, and the school community
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education level, the position has a minimum starting salary of $100,406 following the 2022-2023 Administrative Salary Schedule.
The WFPS District funds the entire 11.75% employee contribution to TFFR, as well as the 12.75% employer contribution.
