JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, coordinates and directs an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the physical, mental, social, recreational, and religious needs of the residents; recruits, trains, and supervises the volunteer program of the facility, completes documentation as required by State and Federal requirements.
CERTIFICATION:
Activity Director Job Requirements: Certification as required by State regulations for activities.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
· Prepare monthly newsletter for distribution to all residents and families.
· Develop and pursues a varied program of meaningful activities and events that is balanced in the physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, vocational and cognitive elements.
· Meets and greets each person upon move-in to welcome them and their family and friends to the facility.
· Recruits’ community groups to come into the Facility such as pet therapy, schools, churches and entertainers.
· Decorates the common areas for special events and holidays.
· Conducts individual and group interactions.
· Maintains Activity Budget
· Resident assessments
· Attends weekly Care Plan Meetings
· Documents on Resident participation
· Compassionate spirit and enthusiasm for working with the elderly.
· Experience working with seniors.
· Proficient in written and verbal English.
· Computer experience and ability to-use or learn to use software programs.
· MDS experience preferred but not required.
SCHEDULE: Flexible days between the hours of 8:30AM-5PM and an occasional weekend
