Being a Structural Engineer develops blueprints or specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations. Determines cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations. Additionally, Structural Engineer provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Annual starting base salary (gross): $92,600 to $151,600. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on several factors including consideration for a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
