Structural Assembler assembles major aircraft structures and subassemblies such as bulkheads, fuselage panels, rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Prepares parts for assembly by filing, burring, crimping, framing, drilling, and reaming. Being a Structural Assembler receives detailed written and verbal instructions on all work. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Structural Assembler typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Structural Assembler works under moderate supervision. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints (technical drawings) and written work instructions.
• Perform complex parts assembly operations using various tooling, fixtures and hand tools.
• Must have experience in mechanical assembly.
• Ensuring parts conform to Drawing Specifications.
• Participate 5s, LEAN Kaizen and problem-solving team activities.
• Must adhere to all the company’s safety requirements.
• Able to work overtime as needed including weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills
• Minimum 2 years Assembly experience in an Aerospace or Equivalent Manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Must be able to meet documented workmanship standards and pass company sponsored training and certification programs
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Education: High School or GED/Equivalent
Years of experience: 2-year minimum
OTHER PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES OR QUALIFICATIONS (not required):
• Six Sigma, 5S and Lean experience a plus
