Stripper - Materials sets-up and operates equipment that strips paint from steel drums preparatory to repainting. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Stripper - Materials may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Additionally, Stripper - Materials relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Directs and leads the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Both laboratory and field materials testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, etc. on public & private projects in northern Nevada. Flexible hours, night shifts possible for certain construction activities (especially during the summer). If currently a student, part-time during school (very flexible), full-time during breaks/summer.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a drug test
Good attitude, work ethic, and communication skills
Ability to work remotely (in and out of the office) from the established CME office in Reno, NV
Experience with lab/field testing of soil, asphalt, concrete, and steel
Current ACI and/or NAQTC certifications preferred
Knowledge and use of iPads, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and Adobe Acrobat
