Stripper - Materials jobs in Arkansas
Stripper - Materials sets-up and operates equipment that strips paint from steel drums preparatory to repainting. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Stripper - Materials may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Additionally, Stripper - Materials relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Directs and leads the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Since 1973, SPEC has strategically grown to thirty-six convenient branch locations in markets throughout the Midwest, the South and Southeastern regions.
Warehouse Material Handlers work with, and are familiar with, the entire SPEC product line. They are responsible for inventory control, loading and unloading trucks, picking and staging materials, and assisting our customers with their orders.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pulling orders for customer pick up and deliveries
- Receiving inbound freight from venders
- Loading outbound freight on our vehicles
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Rotating inventory and cycle counting
- Maintain and operate a forklift to OSHA standards
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- One to two years of building materials history
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic fork lift skills
- Able to lift 80 lbs. repeatedly
- Basic reading and math skills
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment testing
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required
