Strategic Planning Director directs and oversees an organization's strategic and long-range goal planning function. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals. Being a Strategic Planning Director analyzes emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, the viability of outside business partners, and sources of capital. Establishes and retains relationships with industry analysts and the investment community. Additionally, Strategic Planning Director utilizes data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance metrics and process improvement options effectively. Develops reporting and tools to communicate strategic plans and concepts to leadership. Conducts periodic status reviews of organizational goals and objectives to identify roadblocks to progress. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Strategic Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     To drive our global growth ambition, we are looking for highly accomplished Strategic Marketing Director who will be responsible for articulating and implementing global marketing strategy in support of Teknor’s vision and purpose and will be contributing to the development of global business and functional strategies. Teknor’s core is organized across two value chains, and each value chain has multiple business units.

    Working closely with value chain global leaders, global business leaders, sales and business development leaders, and the marketing team, this role will report to Senior Vice President of Engineered Materials value chain. This role is part of EM value chain core leadership team – it is a high impact role with high growth potential that offers an excellent opportunity in shaping Teknor’s future growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Working across value chains, support the development of comprehensive global market strategy to provide strategic direction to the organization.
    • Coordinate a comprehensive view of the global market and bring market insight to frame business strategy in support of Teknor’s growth vision and roadmap.
    • Support assessment and analysis of market, customer, geography, and competitor at 30,000 feet level to define ‘where to play’ and provide insights based on validated market information to define ‘how to play’.
    • Monitor megatrends and emerging market needs to support and prioritize new business development and new product development efforts at value chain level.
    • Closely support each market leader in market assessments, translating market requirements into marketing strategy, and developing market initiatives.
    • Drive corporate marketing functional excellence in the organization through identification and implementation of functional tools, and by building right level of competency in the marketing organization.
    • Lead brand marketing & outbound marketing team and establish priorities and direction for all marketing activities. Support development of brand and brand strategy.
    • Provide framework for developing go-to-market strategy and support the execution by the key businesses.
    • Collaborate with market facing teams to develop and implement market strategies/plans to grow new business, and to protect and develop existing business.
    • Collaborate with product management team, market facing team, business team and technical team in support of new product development and long term product roadmaps.
    • Collaborate with global teams to develop and implement digital & content marketing efforts.

    Profile:

    • A highly experienced strategic marketer with a demonstrated track record of delivering successful marketing strategy and its execution at a global level.
    • Must have experience in articulating market strategy across complex portfolio of businesses in multiple markets spread across all three continents.
    • A strategic advisor on market plan, business plan, and brand strategy, with a strong commercial understanding of businesses.
    • Core competencies in market assessment, market mapping, market & segment strategy development, customer led innovation, value mapping, value chain analysis, voice of customer, validating value proposition & opportunity size, and developing go-to-market strategy.
    • This role requires demonstration of leadership skills through positive influence across different levels in the organization and a demonstrated experience of senior stakeholder management. Must have the ability to effectively collaborate and lead with influence across functions.
    • Ability to communicate strategic plans to key stakeholder in matrix organization.
    • Strong communication skills, influencing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to engage across all levels in organization, manage conflicts and get things done.
    • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and proven ability to lead/manage complex projects within timeframe.
    • Strong team player with ability to build followership and ability to work in a matrix organization.
    • B2B marketing experience.
    • Strategic and creative thinker with strong analytical ability.
    • Strong track record of delivering results for market and business growth.

    Requirements:

    • At least 15 years of experience in strategic marketing functions in multinational organization, of which at least 5 years in a global role.
    • Preferably, 10 year of experience in specialty plastics or chemicals industry.
    • Exposure to and strong knowledge of working across global markets.
    • Experience working with international teams from the US, Europe and Asia.
    • Cross regional and cross-cultural working experience.
    • A degree in engineering or chemistry and an MBA.
    • Ability to travel about 20% of time within and outside region.
