DRG is looking to add a Strategic Business Analyst to support our Business Development team as well as identify business needs and solutions in respect to the efforts vetted by our capture/pursuit teams through information gathering, synthesis and review. The Strategic Business Analyst will assist with research, planning, costing, and documentation support for development of business opportunities and analytical data. Tasks include conducting market research to identify potential clients and industry trends, manage and update market research databases, ensuring accuracy of information for current and future opportunities, assisting in the creation and implementation of business development strategies, prepare and analyze reports on opportunities with metrics and performance, monitor and track competitors’ activities in the market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION

• Collect and analyze industry competitive information used to formulate informed strategic plans of action.
• Supports the financial analysis and capture/pursuit teams in providing business analyst support
• Perform technical and user requirement analysis of potential business opportunities with a goal of improving BD capture and proposal processes and results.
• Prepares data, costing and/or pricing proposals in support of new contract pursuits
• Assist in the strategic or costing elements in support of new pursuits and existing contract change proposals
• Formulates and maintains supporting data for submissions and reviews.
• Conducts phone discussions for data and fact finding.
• Conducts online searches for business related opportunities.
• Uses research tools and data to provide supporting feedback and information
• Assists with research on existing contract data in relation to new pursuits
• Assist in defining project scope, impact, outcome criteria and metrics.
• Analyze customer-supplied specifications for completeness and accuracy and assist in compliance management.
• Maintains accurate files and data in support of existing and new contracts
• Prepares analysis as needed for business reviews and pricing submissions.
• Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, to all levels of staff and management, outside officials and agencies
• Assists with bid reviews and/or submissions

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Minor in Finance/Accounting is a plus.
• 2-5 years of equivalent experience is required.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
• Must possess ability to administer several projects independently and concurrently, with ongoing changes in priority.
• Must possess ability to think independently and work effectively.
• Must possess strong P/C computer skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
• Preferable experience includes: Experience in business, analysis, estimating, and or finance.
• Desired – familiarity with Defense Acquisition and the Federal procurement process.
