ROLE SUMMARY:
With an unbiased view, robust analytical framework, and cross-functional perspective the Senior Analyst, Commercial Planning will provide portfolio planning, insights and recommendations to influence strategic decision making and enable dynamic business management.
* Develops the annual financial Plan and owns monthly consensus building and performance tracking for assigned business unit(s) as part of the Integrated Business Management (IBM) process.
* Signals risks, identifies opportunities, and evaluates gap-filling actions in conjunction with key stakeholders and decision makers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* In conjunction with key stakeholders, develops out-year Plan for assigned Building Block(s) via frequent assessment, refinement, and integration of bottoms-up and top-down planning assumptions
* Comprehends, pressure-tests and synthesizes quantitative and qualitative data and intelligence from various functional areas of the organization (including but not limited to media, national and customer-specific promotional plans, innovation, inventory management, packtype strategy, and category distribution strategy), leveraging disparate data sets and cross-functional wiring to understand business drivers and implications to Commercial and Operational Plans
* As part of the Integrated Business Management (IBM) process, owns monthly Consensus building and performance tracking for assigned business unit(s); accountable for delivering and continuously improving Consensus accuracy at building block/brand/packtype level and driving alignment between Consensus and Demand Plan forecast
* Comprehensively analyzes the business to understand implications to Plan and Consensus.
* Works collaboratively with Key Stakeholders in the development of KPI's to track and monitor in-year performance against target objectives
* Works with relevant teams to identify, isolate, and appropriately size R&Os; grasps challenges and topline/bottom line impact associated with gap-filling activities, assesses solutions and understands trade-offs, and influences/enables key decision making to maximize financial targets, minimize costs, and protect customer relationship.
* Maintains consistent and thorough records of key planning assumptions by building block and key driver/initiatives
* Serves as the voice for both Commercial and Demand Planning/CSC in core organizational processes (e.g., KEM Meetings, SKU Rationalization, product hierarchy changes)
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience, etc.):
Education:
* Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
* 2-4 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Category Management, Analytics, Finance, or Demand Planning
* Understanding of the P&L, building blocks, mix implications, and growth levers
