    Summary
    Maintains inventory requirements to ensure that service levels, inventory turnover and distribution of inventory goals are met, which provides efficient use of company resources. Processes system generated and manual material requests for purchase, and expedites deliveries as may be required. Provides information to customers and vendors concerning inquiries for stock-keeping units assigned or system standard purchases. Investigates discrepancies and initiates corrective action to forecasts and distribution requirements based on available stocking plans.

    General Duties
    Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    A. Effectively utilize a computer, tablet, or hand-held device in ordering, receiving and taking inventory of supplies, cable, material and tools.

    B. Selecting, addressing (label) and staging supplies for distribution.

    C. Identifying, staging, and preparing all supply material for returns.

    D. Maintaining and adjusting supply center stock levels.

    E. Interpreting service orders and engineering orders.

    F. Performing general office functions, including verifying shipments for accuracy, documenting discrepancies and issuing claims.

    G. Performing housekeeping tasks both in the storeroom and outside in the cable yard.

    H. Loading and unloading cable reels and trucks, lifting large, heavy, bulky material and equipment, weighing up to 70 lbs.

    I. Operating manual or power equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hydraulic lifts, cable- cutters and dock plates.

    J. Driving a Company vehicle may be required.

    K. Communicating effectively and professionally through telephone and face-to-face contact with clients and vendors to respond to or make routine inquiries regarding material shipments and customer requirements.

    L. Maintaining records for mechanized order entry and inventory management systems.

    M. Interacting with other departments, such as Outside Plant, Purchasing, Engineering and User Technical Staff.

    N. Verify receipts for supplies, perform put-a-way of verified supplies.

    O. Participating in the deployment and general maintenance of inventory systems and associated equipment.

    P. Initiating claims for missing, damaged or obsolete material to obtain proper credit, utilizing appropriate systems.

    Q. Performing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) scans as required.

    R. May work in MDC, locker, cable yard, storeroom, central office and remote customer locations.

    S. Works outside in all types of weather.

    T. Adheres to Federal, State and local laws regarding work area protection and permits. Wears appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures.

    U. Overnight travel may be required.

    V. Meeting annual performance objectives.

    W. May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.

    Basic Qualifications
    A. Tests - Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy.

    B. Medical evaluation is required. Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, moving and/or lifting items such as ladders, tools, air tanks, cable reels, test equipment and other objects weighing up to 70 pounds, and working aloft; climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces to accomplish job tasks.

    C. Security background investigation may be required.

    D. When driving is required, must have a valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

    E. Must be available to work scheduled tours designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or the needs of the business. Associates may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, non-scheduled and non-consecutive days, as the needs of the business require. Tours are subject to change at any time based on the needs of the business and that are in accord with labor contract requirements.
