Sterile Supply Attendant sterilizes, cleans, wraps, stores and distributes supplies, instruments, and equipment used in patient care. Disinfects equipment requiring decontamination or sterilization. Being a Sterile Supply Attendant prepares supplies and equipment for use during patient procedures. Operates autoclaves and other equipment to sterilize instruments and equipment. Additionally, Sterile Supply Attendant inspects and assembles instruments, equipment, trays, and packs. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Sterile Supply Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. We are owned by 4 wonderful plastic surgeons and run 4 outstanding operating rooms, catering to a variety of specialties and Doctors. As a surgical technologist here at Canyon Crest, you will be training and working with some of the best doctors in the state. We are seeking a trained individual who is highly proficient in all things pertaining to an Operating facility. You will be trained and oriented by senior techs who have all worked at this surgical facility for 10 years. Expectations of our team members:
-Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes surgical instruments and supplies according to established procedures and techniques.
-Sorts and organizes sets of instruments and equipment in a timely manner to ensure they are ready for use in the operating rooms.
-Perform and record all biological and chemical sterilization tests.
-Keep track of and report inventory of all supplies and materials. Rotates stock and ensures that supply rooms are adequately stocked.
-Disinfect and clean supply rooms, central processing rooms, and autoclaves routinely.
-Help facilitate an efficient turn over for each OR between cases.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma, or GED equivalent. Completion from a sterile processing program preferred, but not required.
Certifications: Current BLS or BCLS certification required. .
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of operating room or sterile processing experience highly preferred.
