Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision. Able to interpret technical manuals related to maintenance, blueprints and specifications for installation and maintenance of equipment. Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED or technical training equivalent, plus one (1) to two (2) years of specialized training/experience in the mechanical field with preferred experience in Plant Operations. Training in specific items of equipment such as boilers, chillers, electrical, plumbing, air-condition and refrigeration is very desirable. Minimum (2) years’ experience preferred (5) years. Must have a valid NC driver’s license with a good driving history
