Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision. The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the efficient operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment throughout the Field Museum. Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the work is performed in accordance with the standards and procedures of the Field Museum.

Saturday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Sunday's: Off
