Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision.     About this Role

    The Engineer I will provide engineering, design and drafting in the preparation of all projects assigned. The Engineer I will provide assistance/direction on engineering projects and establish priorities, while providing innovation tools to support the long-term vision of the department and company.

    What You'll Do

    • Provide detailed engineering, design and planning assessments and recommendations
    • Evaluate system operations, and provide project scope development for overhead and underground utility systems
    • Evaluate electrical power systems and design overhead/underground replacements per utility standards
    • Develop/modify accurate estimates and engineering drawings using BlueBeam (PDF software), AutoCAD and/or GIS software
    • Meet with manager, engineers and colleagues to review status of each project and determine an appropriate communication course of action
    • Visit site plan to determine the condition of existing utility and collecting necessary information for each project
    • Coordinate ROW acquisition, planning, and design functions through regular project updates for schedule adherence and work forecast
    • Work a minimum of 40 hours a week on a regular basis, with possible OT
    • Additional duties as needed and/or assigned
