Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal aids hospital staff and physicians in the care of patients with stomas, draining wounds, fistulae, incontinence, or potential or actual tissue trauma. Manages patients with post-operative surgical wounds requiring packing or negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), pressure ulcers and vascular ulcers. Being an Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal provides support and education to patients and their families, including pre and post-operative teaching, wound care, ostomy care, and ostomy appliance maintenance/trouble-shooting. Requires a RN license and typically requires CWOCN, CWS, or CWCA certification. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Registered Nurse will provide guidance, oversight and services to the health services department to ensure the quality care of all residents and regulatory compliance of the assigned community. This position requires creativity and flexibility with residents who have complex situations and is at times stressful. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing the outlined services, following the nurse practice act, and ensuring quality care to all residents in their care.
As Needed (PRN) employees typically work less than 86.67 hours per month or less than 25 hours per week. Based on the variable need of the position there may be instances where as many as 40 hours are needed per week. Assignments requiring 30-40 hours per week for greater than 4 weeks may require change to the company payroll in an interim position and will be agreed upon in advance.
