Manages patients with post-operative surgical wounds requiring packing or negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), pressure ulcers and vascular ulcers. Being an Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal provides support and education to patients and their families, including pre and post-operative teaching, wound care, ostomy care, and ostomy appliance maintenance/trouble-shooting. Requires a RN license and typically requires CWOCN, CWS, or CWCA certification. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Wound Nurse (RN/LPN) Responsibilities
As a Wound Nurse, you will be responsible for the community’s general application of the skin management program. Our Wound Nurses are responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and effective treatment to heal various types of wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, bed sores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Wound Nurses are required to assess wounds, create, and implement treatment plans, monitor infections and signs of various infections, and clean wounds. As a Wound Nurse, you would operate within the scope of practice defined by the state Nurse Practice Act.
