Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal aids hospital staff and physicians in the care of patients with stomas, draining wounds, fistulae, incontinence, or potential or actual tissue trauma. Manages patients with post-operative surgical wounds requiring packing or negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), pressure ulcers and vascular ulcers. Being an Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal provides support and education to patients and their families, including pre and post-operative teaching, wound care, ostomy care, and ostomy appliance maintenance/trouble-shooting. Requires a RN license and typically requires CWOCN, CWS, or CWCA certification. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Wound and Enterostomal typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Salary position starts at 75,000- based on experience may be more. This position is part of Nurse Management thst includes, training and retraining of new and exsisting nurses and C.N.A positions. THIS POSITION IS ALSO IN THE ON CALL ROTATION FOR NURSE COVERAGE IF THERE IS A CALL OFF INCLUDING OVERNIGHT SHIFTS. Schedule is normally Mon- Fri however flexability is a must.
JOB SUMMARY: This is a 40 hour a week salaried management position that cooridnates with HR to ensure proper orientation for all levels of nursing hired. It includes re training and re-training when needed for all levels of nursing, monthly staff inservices, daily on the spot educations as needed, staying up to date with new information for training purposes. This position will also do rounds with the wound doctor on Wednesdays to update any progress or change of orders as well as esucation to staff when ordes change.
