Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides professional nursing care to assigned post-operative patients. Monitors vital signs, administers medications, including intravenous medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with surgeons and anesthesiologists. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia, including bandage maintenance, pain management, nausea treatment, and ensuring patients receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room teaches patients how to clean bandages, take medication, and follow post-surgical care instructions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Summary:
Performs the primary function of a Registered Nurse assessing, planning, implementing, educating and evaluating a designated group of patients in accordance with all established Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies. Responsible for managing all assigned supplies and equipment on the unit. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Education: Nursing Degree
Experience: Previous PACU/ICU experience, ACLS
Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri
