Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides professional nursing care to assigned post-operative patients. Monitors vital signs, administers medications, including intravenous medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with surgeons and anesthesiologists. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Recovery Room provides support to patients waking up from anesthesia, including bandage maintenance, pain management, nausea treatment, and ensuring patients receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary. Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients with rheumatic diseases, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and patient education.
3. Perform joint injections and other procedures as necessary, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
4. Collaborate with the rheumatology team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
5. Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding the management of rheumatic diseases, including medication administration, self-care strategies, and symptom management.
6. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes and quality of life.
7. Document patient encounters and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
8. Stay current with advances in rheumatology research and treatment modalities, participating in continuing education activities and professional development opportunities.
9. Collaborate with community resources and support groups to enhance patient care and promote community awareness of rheumatic diseases.
Qualifications:
1. Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arizona
2. Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
3. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, in Rheumatology.
5. Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to perform joint injections and other procedures.
6. Strong knowledge of rheumatic diseases, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
8. Proficient in using electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology.
