Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics jobs in Maryland
Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics provides professional nursing care to assigned pediatric patients. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops pediatric patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Summary
JOB SUMMARY
Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and if necessary, delegating patient care to a specified group of patients. Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure the quality of care given. Provides care for the neonate and pediatric patients. Utilizes knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient's age to ensure that care provided meets the unique physical and psychosocial needs of the patient.
REQUIREMENTS- Required - Associate's Degree, Preferred - Bachelor's Degree
- Completion of coursework of accredited nursing school Required
- Must have previous Inpatient Pediatrics experience - experience with Emergency Pediatrics is also a plus
- CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider required
- PALS - PALS required
- RN - Registered Nurse required
