Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care provides professional nursing care to assigned pediatric patients in a home care environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient home care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     Home Health Nurses wanted for the Amarillo area. Schedules are flexible.

    Responsibilities
    • Execute physician prescribed plans of care.
    • Complete compliant documentation of the care provided in the system of record.
    • Manage and administer prescribed medication, treatment, and therapies.
    • Perform various activities associated with daily living.
    • Monitor for changes in the patient’s condition such as weight loss/gain, self-care abilities, and indicators of disease progression.
    • Communicate with family members, physicians, case managers, and other prescribed individuals regarding the health of the patients.
    • Provide education and training to the patient, their family, and/or the Home Health Aide.
    • Work with patients to be done one-on-one in the patients home to provide for a comfortable environment.
    • Collaborate with and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and Personal Care Attendants.
    • Perform other personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs.


    Minimum Qualifactions
    • Education, licensing, and certification: graduate of an accredited college or university, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
    • Current State or Compact License as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
    • Current CPR certification with AED
    • Willing to get TB tested.
    • Maintain required insurance.
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Must have dependable transportation and be willing to commute to the patient’s home.


    Preferred Qualifications
    • 1 years of experience as an RN/LPN in a clinical or home health setting.
