Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health provides professional nursing care to on-site employees. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health may be responsible for administering flu vaccination, workers' compensation, disability, and/or employee health and safety training programs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent. Requires a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Staff Nurse - RN - Occupational Health work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Job Summary: The LPN/RN in Occupational Health is instrumental in supporting a successful plant safety and health program at our Henry, IL facility. The primary focus of this role is on proactive accident prevention and compliance with OSHA standards. The incumbent will be responsible for providing first-aid treatment and life-support care to sick or injured employees, as well as monitoring and documenting occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses to ensure a safe, healthy work environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Administer first-aid treatment and life-support care to sick or injured persons.
    • Observe, record, and report on the condition or injury of employees, assessing the nature and extent of illnesses or injuries to prioritize medical procedures.
    • Act as a medical navigator and resource point of contact for employees regarding medical information.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local medical providers, aligning with the company’s expectations and philosophies.
    • Support and administer plant health and safety programs, including early Return to Work (RTW) programs, respiratory protection, audiometric, bloodborne pathogen, and other employee health/safety programs.
    • Organize and lead wellness education initiatives such as health fairs, weight management programs, blood pressure screenings, cardiac/diabetes screenings, and smoking cessation programs.
    • Maintain confidentiality of medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) laws.
    • Perform other duties as required to support the health and safety of employees.

    Qualifications:

    • Current RN or LPN license in Illinois.
    • Ability to work independently, reliably, and punctually.
    • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
    • Experience in Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Health preferred but not required.

    Experience Required:

    • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
    • Willingness to train in areas like Certified Occupational Hearing Conservation, NIOSH Certification Spirometry, and phlebotomy/venipuncture.
