Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Infusion Therapy provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require CRNI certification as an infusion nurse. Requires a valid state RN license. Infusion nurses perform nursing-related procedures within patient homes and in the ambulatory infusion suite in compliance with regulatory and industry standards and organizational policies and procedures. The infusion nurse provides direct patient care to infusion therapy patients and is responsible to assess actual and potential patient problems, as well as planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in coordination with the pharmacist.
