This position is responsible for identifying risks and hazards in a company environment, assess health statuses, promote good overall health and well-being, and provides assessment and reassessment of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Develops and coordinates employee health education and wellness programs for the Hospital. Participates in performance improvement activities. The Quality/IC manager is tasked with implementation and documentation of the Employee Health program for the Hospital. This role also provides assessment, surveillance, data collection, reporting, and education to staff and patients. Responsible for following the Joint Commission, Federal and State Regulations for Infection Control Prevention and ensures that CDC and OSHA standards are in compliance within the organization. Works towards fulfilling the Mission of the organizations Infection Control Plan. The Quality/IC Nurse communicates with the medical staff on identified patient issues. Performs patient care assessments timely and accurately. Addresses patient care needs in a timely manner. Documents findings into the medical record accurately and timely. Ensures daily documentation is completed thoroughly and signed and dated according to protocol. Adheres to Human Resource policies regarding code of conduct and attendance. Follows Infection Control and Employee Health Guidelines to ensure safety of patients and staff. This position is responsible for planning and implementing the Quality Program to meet the needs of the hospital approved by the Hospital Governance Committee under the Direction of the Corporate Quality Director.
This role provides education to leadership, medical staff, hospital staff and Governing Body. The Quality Director facilitates performance improvement activities and CQI activities throughout the hospital through the QAPI plan. Acts as a resource person to administrative team, department managers and medical staff. Assists department managers with preparation for all committee meetings as needed. Assists with preparation for all regulatory body surveys, i.e., the accrediting organization, State Licensing Review, CMS Validation surveys. Focuses the plan on the basis of 3 categories: Quality Management, Risk Management, and Staff Educator. Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team and communicates identified patient goals, interventions, and assessments.
