Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice jobs in Alaska
Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice provides professional nursing care to assigned terminally ill patients in a hospice environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' condition and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Hospice's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Location: Alaska
Position: RN Stepdown
Responsibilities:
- Checking patients' health status daily and making note of any changes or concerns
- Caring for multiple patients throughout the same shift, often varying in age and condition
- Monitoring patients with life-saving medical equipment such as IVs, catheters, feeding tubes and ventilators
- Responding to "code blue " alerts and other urgent situations
- Providing a comfortable and secure environment for the patient while acting as their advocate
Certifications - Required
AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
Education - Required
Graduate of accredited Nursing program
Experience - Required
1 - 2 year Acute Care Experience and/or experience congruent with role in service line
Licenses - Required
