Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport jobs in Rockford, IL
Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport provides professional nursing care to critically injured or ill patients throughout all phases of emergency ground and air transportation. Evaluates and treats patients prior to and during transport, ensuring patient safety and implementing life support measures as needed. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport monitors patient condition, documents nursing care, and reports patient status to clinical staff at receiving medical facility. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) certification. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Registered Nurse Responsibilities:
- Record a patient's medical history accurately
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
- Monitor patients' conditions including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
- Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
