Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport provides professional nursing care to critically injured or ill patients throughout all phases of emergency ground and air transportation. Evaluates and treats patients prior to and during transport, ensuring patient safety and implementing life support measures as needed. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport monitors patient condition, documents nursing care, and reports patient status to clinical staff at receiving medical facility. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Flight Transport typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) certification. Job summary:
Vighter requires Registered Nurses to provide in-flight nursing services to DHS/ICE detainees being repatriated to their countries of origin. The RN will review medical records to determine if detainees can fly and will provide general nursing services during the flight. The employee must be able to make decisions in accordance with protocols as this position is granted a high degree of autonomy. The employee must successfully complete a 7-year criminal background investigation within the previous 12 months.
