Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the coronary care unit by providing quality care to heart disease and heart attack patients and families. Performs diagnostic evaluations of the arteries of the heart and identifies blockages. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization assists physician during procedures. Administers medications and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization monitors patient's status before, during, and after procedures. Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. Educates patients and families about the patients illness and treatment plan. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Staff Nurse - RN - Cardiac Catherization's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Summary
Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
The Cardiac Angiography nurse provides direct patient care for both the inpatient and outpatient population in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Angiography Suites and CT Scan Radiology. The Cardiovascular Angiography nurse provides moderate sedation and cardiac monitoring for patients during cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral vascular and Interventional Radiology and CT scan procedures as well as performs efficiently within the holding area of the Cath Lab/Interventional suite and Radiology.
