New Vision, Inc. is currently seeking Home Study Writers to contract with to complete Home Studies for prospective Foster Homes in Nashville and surrounding counties.

Position Summary: As a Home Study Writer, you will contract with New Vision, Inc. to meet with prospective foster, adoptive, kinship, and ICPC families to complete home studies. You will meet with the families in their homes to assess their readiness and ability to care for the child(ren). Your report provides the court with comprehensive data and recommendations on the best interest placement of the child(ren). This position will provide a flexible schedule that fits your and the client's needs.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and gather information on various topics related to child protective services, social work, working with people with developmental disabilities, child welfare, and childcare.
• Conduct interviews with prospective foster parents to gather insights and data to certify foster homes.
• Meet with New Vision’s team members to develop content ideas and strategies.
• Edit and proofread written content to ensure accuracy and clarity.

You must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences.
• Proven experience in writing, preferably in the field of child protective services, social work, or related areas.
• Strong research and interviewing skills and the ability to gather information from various sources.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate and partner effectively with New Vision team members.

When contracting for New Vision you will need to provide proof of at least 2 of these items, along with the Independent Contractor Agreement, W9, and Confidentiality Agreement. As an Independent Contractor with New Vision, you will be responsible for:

• Submitting invoices for only payment of service.
• Has own liability insurance, preferred.
• Must have dependable transportation.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
