Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages the daily operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions. Plans and develops speech therapy programs and evaluates program objectives and results to determine effectiveness. Being an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor reviews assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations. Monitors inventories and supplies and tracks spending to ensure adherence to departmental budgets. Additionally, Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor implements operational procedures to ensure effective care, promote best practices, and facilitate efficient workflow. Provides professional guidance and oversight to resolve complex cases or issues. Recruits, hires, and manages staff and designs and leads development and training activities. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
    • Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
    • Prior experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school setting.
    • Strong knowledge of various communication disorders and therapeutic techniques.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
    • Ability to conduct thorough assessments and create individualized treatment plans.
    • Proficiency in utilizing technology and speech therapy software for assessment, documentation, and therapy purposes.


    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders.
    • Provide therapy sessions to students individually or in small groups, targeting specific communication goals.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective strategies and interventions to support students' communication needs.
    • Monitor students' progress, document observations, and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and assessments.
    • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to discuss student progress, goals, and strategies.
    • Educate and guide parents, teachers, and other school staff on implementing strategies and accommodations to support students' communication skills in the classroom.
    • Stay updated on the latest research, advancements, and techniques in the field of speech and language pathology.
