Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages the daily operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions. Plans and develops speech therapy programs and evaluates program objectives and results to determine effectiveness. Being an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor reviews assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations. Monitors inventories and supplies and tracks spending to ensure adherence to departmental budgets. Additionally, Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor implements operational procedures to ensure effective care, promote best practices, and facilitate efficient workflow. Provides professional guidance and oversight to resolve complex cases or issues. Recruits, hires, and manages staff and designs and leads development and training activities. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist:

    You will help provide the best possible therapy services to patients consistent with established standards of practice and company and department procedures, including:

    • Conduct regular screening of residents to figure out the best intervention or treatment for each individual patient
    • Evaluate residents to inform and develop treatment plans; establish short- and long-term goals and methods to achieve goals
    • Interpret and communicate evaluation findings, treatment plans, and recommendations to residents, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
    • Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with other team members
    • Conduct therapy according to established treatment plan and ensure proper documentation and billing of therapy services
    • Perform all other duties as assigned and as required to effectively treat patients 

    Requirements:

    • Current licensure as SLP in practicing state(s) 
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year
