Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages the daily operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions. Plans and develops speech therapy programs and evaluates program objectives and results to determine effectiveness. Being an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor reviews assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations. Monitors inventories and supplies and tracks spending to ensure adherence to departmental budgets. Additionally, Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor implements operational procedures to ensure effective care, promote best practices, and facilitate efficient workflow. Provides professional guidance and oversight to resolve complex cases or issues. Recruits, hires, and manages staff and designs and leads development and training activities. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Overview:
    The National Therapy Center invites internal candidate applications for the position of DC Clinical Lead. This pivotal role is responsible for leading our clinical efforts under the Strong Start contract, ensuring our team delivers outstanding early intervention services. The DC Clinical Lead will champion onboarding, continuous professional development, clinical supervision, and adherence to contract stipulations, playing a critical role in shaping the therapeutic outcomes for our clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Onboarding Excellence: Spearhead comprehensive onboarding for new hires, including coordination of essential trainings such as the Texas Coaching Families Training, AEPS IRR Course, and foundational coaching skills. You'll ensure new team members are well-prepared and integrated into our mission from day one.
    • Professional Development and Training: Lead the charge in organizing impactful annual book studies and quarterly in-service trainings tailored to address areas of need within our clinical team. This includes facilitating dynamic discussions during our monthly staff meetings to ensure all team members are up-to-date with the latest practices and contract requirements.
    • Clinical Supervision: Conduct thorough quarterly audits of clinical documentation and assessments, providing insightful feedback to enhance service quality. You'll also oversee coaching session observations to ensure compliance and excellence in our therapeutic approaches.
    • Vendor and Contract Management: Act as the primary liaison with DC Strong Start and related agencies, ensuring our relationships are marked by responsiveness, collaboration, and mutual respect. This includes preparing for and contributing to semi-annual and annual contract review processes, showcasing our commitment to meeting and exceeding contract expectations.
    • Billing and Productivity: Maintain a personal standard of 15 billable hours per week, setting a benchmark for efficiency and dedication within our clinical team.

    Qualifications:

    • Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a clinical leadership role within an early intervention, therapy, or related setting. A strong track record of managing teams and projects in accordance with contractual obligations is essential.
    • Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy) is required. Additional certifications related to early intervention, coaching, or leadership are highly desirable.
    • Skills and Competencies: Exceptional leadership and organizational skills; proficient in managing diverse teams and fostering a collaborative work environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial. A deep commitment to continuous improvement, quality care, and professional integrity is expected.
    • Contractual Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Strong Start contract, including all operational, compliance, and reporting requirements. Familiarity with OSSE/Strong Start policies and procedures is a must.
