Speech and Language Pathology Director plans and directs the operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions to ensure effective operation and compliance with regulatory standards. Designs policies and processes to ensure efficient service delivery and promote best practices. Being an Speech and Language Pathology Director develops and implements long-term strategic plans and objectives for audiology and speech therapy programs in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Provides leadership and oversight to the development and expansion of programs or service offerings. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathology Director evaluates program design, assessment tools, and treatment protocols and researches advancements in the field. Develops and manages the budget to allocate resources to support staffing, equipment, and other program needs. Monitors operational and financial metrics to measure the achievement of organizational objectives. Negotiates and selects vendor proposals and manages vendors to maintain inventories and adhere to budgets. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to senior management. The Speech and Language Pathology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Speech and Language Pathology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • Overview

    Under supervision of the SHNH Clinical Director, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant provide assessment and treatment of elementary- and/or secondary school-aged children with developmental or acquired disorders, including neurological, physical, psychiatric, and/or multiple disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant is a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with families, program staff, and other key stakeholders to improve outcomes and to promote wraparound care. The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant serves as a clinical consultant to a caseload of children across settings, providing staff professional training as part of their program consultation.

    Responsibilities

    1. Contribute to the delivery of a continuum of comprehensive speech-language therapeutic services and supports to students within their natural environments by following documented treatment plans/protocols developed by the supervising speech language pathologist (SLP).2. Document student performance and report this information to the supervising SLP (e.g., frequency counts, preparing charts, generating graphs).3. Assist the SLP during the assessment of students4. Utilize effective approaches to treatment that reflect best practice.5. Carry out all responsibilities in a professional, ethical and efficient manner.6. Participate on an interdisciplinary team for each client together with the supervising SLP.7. Assist the SLP with making communication boards, books, programming devices, preparing students schedules, preparing other speech-language materials.8. Prepare necessary therapy materials.9. Participate in program planning, in-service training and activities within the department.10. Participates in the intake process as directed/requested.11. Develops and maintains supportive working relationships with students’ families/guardians.12. Maintains confidential records (e.g., assessments, treatment plans, clinical reports, progress summaries), completes mandated reports (e.g., incident reports), and participates in mandated reviews as per regulations.13. Maintains compliance with applicable regulations and policies and engages in ongoing professional development and systems improvement in effort to support systems-wide interventions as well as direct/indirect interventions for children.

    Additional Responsibilities

    1. Adhere to the American Speech-language-Hearing Association’s Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice and NH regulations.2. Complete and/or maintain required staff training, including training in a Foundation-approved crisis management curriculum.3. Work in collaboration and in support of the Seven Hills Foundations’ operating subsidiary.4. Actively promote and positively role model philosophy, mission, and core values of the organization. Foster an environment which promotes SHF Core Values (i.e., respect and kindness, integrity, teamwork, innovation, service to others).5. Implement SHF policies and procedures and funder regulations, inclusively.6. Complete and maintain all required training, certifications, and/or licenses.7. Safeguard sensitive and confidential data consistent with HIPAA and other ethical standards.8. Respond effectively to potential safety hazards and emergencies.9. Follow maintenance and safety protocols.10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    1. Two-year Associate’s degree or higher in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders or communication disorders awarded by an educational program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Speech-Language Pathology.2. Hold a NH Speech Language Pathology Assistant license or eligible to obtain one.3. Computer literacy/proficiency, including experience working within electronic health records (EHRs).4. Excellent writing skills with experience preparing clinical reports and progress summaries.5. Excellent verbal communication skills with experience leading clinical meetings, sharing case information to support staff, and presenting to other clinical disciplines.6. Strong understanding of human rights, self-determination, and individualized treatment planning.7. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.8. Valid driver’s license and evidence of a safe driving record.
