Overview: 

Signalink, a rapidly growing small company, is currently seeking a Technical Writer to join the team as an integral member of a group of government, military, and contractor personnel that provide program, engineering, and technical support on a wide variety of projects. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency with the latest logistics standards to include MIL-HDBK-1222C, AMC-P 700-25, MIL-PRF-63002J, and MIL-STD-400051.
• Carries out preliminary and final development of detailed logistic work including technical manual work package development, operator manual updates and changes, MWO work orders, technical bulletins, and LSAR reports.
• Assists engineers with prototype installation documentation.
• Ensures compliance with appropriate standards and/or specifications.
• Creates technical data products based on input from engineering teams.
• Ensures written files and information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with procedures.
• Responsible for reporting progress of all assigned tasks to the project lead.
  

Requirements and Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field from an accredited college or university
• 4 years of applicable experience in a government or contractor setting
  
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance at the secret level
• Ability to travel 10% of the time
  

Preferred Experience and Knowledge: 

• Experience developing US Army (preferred) or other DoD (optional) technical publications, including Modification Work Orders (MWOs) and Technical Manuals (Operator and Maintenance)
• Developing technical documentation in eXtensable Markup Language (XML) using authoring software
• Experience with modifications or maintenance, including performing maintenance or installations on a variety of military equipment including aircraft, special equipment and ground vehicles.
